Oral health problems are one factor that affects to the quality of life. Many studies have been shown that Acmella oleracea contained spilanthol, which exhibited pharmacological effects, including local anesthetic effect, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activities. Therefore, this study was interested to use the A. oleracea extract for preparation of herbal toothpaste formula. In addition, the essential oil from peppermint was combined in this formula in order to increase antibacterial activity and to be a flavoring agent. Most of toothache problem will cause by Streptococcus mutans. So, it was chosen for determination of antibacterial activity. From the results, A. oleracea extract exhibited the minimal inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimal bactericidal concentration (MBC) against S. mutans as 31.25 mg/ml and 62.50 mg/ml. After the accelerated stability test, the toothpaste product did not separate into layer and precipitation. The color, smell, taste, pH, homogeneity of toothpaste also were not changed. So, this toothpaste could be the prototype of herbal product which was suitable for people who have oral ulcers, toothache and smoking cessation. Additional, it should be further clinical study for the efficacy
